Filter statistics - record options

The record options are specified in the Event record section of the statistics filter file and are used for the generation of statistics events.

Recording layers and counting details

The statistics event file include statistics events which are relative to one or several protocol layers and contains optional counting detail types.

Additionally to the definition of the protocols used on the interfaces, the statistics filter contains specifications as:

  • protocol layers used or in Detailed mode.
  • protocol layers unused or in None mode.
  • optional counting detail types:
    • Decoding: by protocol unit type - frames, messages, packets, ...).
    • Decoding/Multiplex: counting by protocol unit type AND/OR particular field-value (as Q931 CAll reference, X25 LCN, ...).
    • Measure: counting of data flow, of frames with a certain length.
    • Measure/Multiplex: counting of data flow AND/OR particular field-value (as Q931 CAll reference, X25 LCN, ...).
    • Delays: counting of the number of delays (between particular protocol events, that are delays between Delay protocol system events) of the different types within a time range.

These options have to be chosen according to the specifications of the Counter display actions to be used by the Statistics Event Editor.

The reference statistics filters are specialized by link type (SL or DL), protocol (Q931 or X25 or LAN), layer (1 or 2 or 3 or all) and their names are significant (for example SL_Q931, DL2_X25).

Time sampling

The sampling period is 10 seconds by default in the reference filters.

The counting samples are displayed by the Statistics Event Editor with the defined time resolution. To change it, the statistics filter has to be modified and the statistics event file must be re-generated ( Filter Statistics/Run function to apply the statistics filter with on the corresponding protocol event file).
